Manley Collection consists of lecture notes and problem sets from mathematics and engineering classes that Manley took at Oregon State College in 1939-1940 as well as several mathematics and engineering textbooks. Of particular interest are lecture notes from a numerical calculus class taught by W.E. Milne and a 1949 textbook by Milne, "Numerical Calculus."

Alumnus Harold L. (Hal) Manley entered Oregon State College in January 1938 and graduated in June 1940 with a BS degree in Civil Engineering. He worked briefly for the National Bureau of Standards after graduation and served in the US Marine Corps from 1942 to 1946. In 1946, he became a State Registered Civil Engineer in California; shortly thereafter he began working for the Department of Building and Safety of the City of Los Angeles where he remained until his retirement in 1975. ...
